Tanzania Government provide 173 billion shillings for rural communication services

Minister of Construction, Transport and Communications Engineer, Isack Kamwelwe has witnessed the signature of the International Communications Fund (UCSAF) and four mobile phones sponsored by Tanzania Government that provide 173 billion shillings for developing rural communication services in the 173 county in different parts of the country.

Four companies signing up with the UCSAF for sending communications are Tanzania Telecommunication Agency (TTCL), Vodacom Tanzania Company, Viettel Tanzania Company  (Halotel) and MIC Tanzania  Company (TIGO).

He said that the world is now in a position where every citizen should have the right contact as the Warranty of the Revolutionary Party wants us to ensure that the process gives Tanzanians all communications services

"We have agreed with the Tanzanian Agency (TPC) to start providing financial services and to use the Tanzania TTCL services so that contacts can reach rural areas since TPC and TTCL are the oldest institution and have broadband networking across the country" , He said.

In addition, he said telecommunications companies focused more on providing urban communications services but the Government had found it necessary to establish the UCSAF Fund to provide communication to all rural and non-commercial areas.

In turn, UCSAF CEO, Engineer Peter Ulanga has said four mobile telecommunications companies have won Third Phase Bidding for Transfer Communications at the County of 178 at a cost of Tshs 28 billion, adding that until now UCSAF has initiate communication servieces in a total of 703 wards across the country by including the initial phase of the project.
